The topic of human sexuality is often overlooked and may be a source of discomfort for many. In the U.S., adult therapy clients may not have received affirming sex education. This may lead to their inability to consensually engage in informed sexual behavior. Therapists have a unique opportunity to support clients as they engage in sexual and romantic relationships. This workshop provides a sexual education framework that centers on consent, knowledge of the human body, sexual safety, and reinforcement-centric sexuality conceptualization.
Attendees will learn scientifically accurate sexual health information that is affirming of all individuals, including the key elements of BDSM/kink practices and different relationship structures including several types of non-monogamy. Empirically supported literature and data will be presented where applicable and available, and audience questions and discussion will be welcomed throughout the workshop.
Program Offers 3 APA CEs for Psychologists, 3 CEUs for Counselors and Social Workers, and 3.5 Type II BACB CEs for Behavior Analysts.
